Ellison Heil, MEH

Landscape Designer & Project Manager

We are proud to have Ellison as part of our team at Roanoke Landscapes, where he brings a deep-seated passion for plant science and a keen eye for design to every project. Originally from Salem, Virginia, Ellison returned to the Roanoke Valley after completing his Master's in Environmental Horticulture from the University of Washington, following a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from Muhlenberg College.

Ellison’s extensive education and diverse experiences across different landscapes—from designing community green spaces in the Pacific Northwest to working on vertical farms in Philadelphia—have equipped him with unparalleled expertise in creating vibrant and sustainable outdoor environments. His academic pursuits, including an intensive Nepali language program at Cornell University and a significant stint in Nepal during a crucial time of development and social change, have provided him with a unique perspective on ecological and community-centered design.

At Roanoke Landscapes, Ellison excels in digital design renderings and works closely with clients to transform their visions into reality. His deep understanding of plant dynamics and environmental sustainability drives his ability to craft breathtaking landscapes that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also ecologically responsible. Ellison is always eager to share his knowledge, whether he’s helping clients select the perfect plants for their space or explaining the intricate details of ecological gardening.

Ellison’s role is integral to our mission of delivering personalized, stunning landscapes that enhance our clients' outdoor living experiences. His passion for plants and design is evident in every project he undertakes, making him the ideal expert to guide our clients through the process of realizing their landscape dreams.
